Kantai collection may not be the first game to humanize a battleship, but it is certainly one of the best known since the early days.

Ships with their own parameters, shapes, and story backgrounds were uncommonly attracted by the "scientific and Reductive" feminization of battleships.

This also makes the "Kankore" become the otakus must touch the vocabulary.

However, the term "Kankore" can not be used in other works except Kantai Collection because of Copyright issues. What words would we use to replace it?

Recently, the game Azur Lane has suffered such an embarrassing event.

With the popularity of Kantai Collection, there are many similar games in abroad, such as the Warship Girls, the Azur Lane,the Girls’Frontline, the Touken Ranbu. It's dazzling!

However, personification word can be arbitrary, exclusive vocabulary can not be abused.

The Azur Lane's Japanese service operator was given a big warning by DMM, the owner of the Kantai Collection, for using the term "Kankore" in its related promotional videos and images.

DMM doesn't just run Kantai Collection, but in 2013 it registered the "Konkore" as a trademark, meaning that other companies could not use "Konkore" in commercial works except for DMM.

Some game fans may be confused. Isn't a Konkore a common word? You can take this name in the game.  And the registration of a trademark is not necessarily related to whether it is a common word.

Even though DMM's warning notice did not specify who had violated the rights, the carrier of the Azur Lane was acutely aware of the video and text about itself and then deleting them, and publicly apologize on the official website and the official Twitter.

 The use of the term "battleship girl" was also used to apologize:

Well, the apology is over, and the copyright don't seem to call to account. Finally, the question is, can not call "konkore" , this group of feminization of battleships what should be called?

Clever officially left the problem to all the players, in the official push for a public name. So , all players are starting to name it.

It's better to be serious, because it's the Azur Lane, so it's called Cabin Hime and so on.

There are many funny comments, whether or not they can help the official to come up with a good name, but at least all the players entertaining is also very good.
